One of our favorite Christmas Traditions is building a gingerbread house and cookie decorating! Last year we did the three-in-a-row San Fransico-inspired houses! The kids each decorated one and my husband and I partnered up on the middle one. This year to celebrate our move from Seattle to Orlando, we’re eyeing the beach bungalow house with its own palm tree! But can we please talk about the Target store set please? It even has its own cart, name tag, and spot dog! Which house kit is your favorite?
We also love the cookie decorating kits, because let’s be honest- this is a BUSY season! So whenever you can save a little prep work to just focus on the fun, that’s a win-win! Which one are you going to snag!?
P.S. The most annoying thing about building gingerbread houses is… building them. Trying to prevent them from tumbling over is nearly impossible. BUT it doesn’t have to be, if you know this game-changing hack.. bonus it leaves more icing for decorating! All you need to do is bring 1 1/3 cups of sugar and 3/4 cups of water to a boil, then reduce to a simmer until thickened. This happens fast, so have your pieces ready! Then just dip the pieces you need glued, and quickly hold the two pieces together to form your house.
